Understanding when and what benefits you are entitled to can be complex. This article discusses the main types of benefits, their eligibility conditions, and situations when it's worth consulting a lawyer for assistance.
Sick Leave Benefits
For the first two days of illness, if they coincide with your work schedule, the employer pays, with the amount ranging from 62.06% to 100% of your average salary. From the third day, benefits are covered by 'Sodra', typically paying 62.06% of the gross salary. You must have 3 months of service in the last 12 months or 6 months in the last 24 months to receive these benefits.
Unemployment Benefits
Registering with the Employment Service is the first step to obtaining unemployment status and related benefits. You need at least 12 months of unemployment insurance in the last 30 months. In 2026, benefits can be paid for up to 9 months, with the amount depending on fixed and variable parts.
